Draft Day Digital

As part of my role at Ohio State, I help create digital assets for professional drafts across multiple sports, including the NFL, NBA, MLB, and WNBA. These graphics are built for speed and flexibility, allowing us to update and publish them in real time the moment a player is selected. This ensures our content remains timely, polished, and engaging during high-visibility moments.

The above series serves as a strong case study for the type of assets we prepare for draft night. Ideally, the rollout includes a graphic introducing the event and sharing broadcast details, a fully customizable template that can be quickly updated and posted the moment a player is drafted, and a follow-up jersey swap graphic shared later that night or the next day to keep the momentum going and extend the celebration. The photos from this series were directed, shot, and edited by me.

For the 2023 NBA Draft, my video producer Ben Majors and I set out to elevate our draft night content beyond what we’d done in the past. Together, we developed and executed a video jersey swap that was published just three minutes after Brice was selected by the Utah Jazz.

For the 2022 NBA Draft, Ohio State was projected to have two players selected. In addition to our traditional draft assets, I collaborated with illustrator Ran Ren—a former student intern at Ohio State—who, under my direction, created custom illustrations of E.J. Liddell and Malaki Branham. These illustrations were designed to be easily updated with their new team uniforms and shared on social media following their selections.
